Vörðugata 2

Vörðugata is a 32 unit apartment building in Urriðaholt in Garðabær, Reykjavík’s Municipality.

The Project won 1st price in a competition for a Landmark building in that area in the year 2021.

Egill Sæbjörnsson’s role was to design the facade together with the architects and to produce the casting moulds for the concrete work. This includes about 160 panels and columns all around the triangular shaped 6 storey building.

The surface will be coloured with a special coating pigmented material that is well suited to protect the building agains the Icelandic weather. Estimated finishing time will be summer 2027.
