Description:
This work was made it in a wooden house that I rented with my partner at the time, the Brazilian dancer and choreographer Marcia Moraes, in Parque da Cidade in Gávea, Rio de Janeiro, where we had our second home in 2007–2008.
The plastic buckets and the other objects I bought in the shops around Copacabana and experimented with them in the house, which stood in the middle of the park’s subtropical forest. The sounds in the work come from the insects in the surrounding environment.
As the walls of the house were made of dark wood, I remember how surprised I was when the work was installed in the white gallery space in Reykjavík. Suddenly, all these prismatic effects revealed themselves, effects I had hardly noticed while working in the dark wooden house. It was a wonderful surprise.
