Description:
Pleasure Stones is a projection of hand drawn shapes, animated in the computer and projected onto two lava rocks from Iceland. The coloured shapes fall from above, and try to find their way to fit exactly onto the silhouette of either the small stone or the big stone. They stones speak to the shapes to try to make them land in the right place. For me it was interesting to see the colours land on the surface of the rocks, and see how they changed, and the conversation or the relationship between the two rocks also happened as a by product while I was making the work and gave it another dimensions. It ends up being also about pleasure as we see in the orgasmic part of the work, and about the stones enjoying having the colours fit onto their shapes. The sounds they make reminded me of someone sitting down into the hot tub in Icelandic Public Pools as it’s so comfortable specially in cold weathers in the winter.
